Overview
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Platform Engineer to join a pivotal project within the Data & Digitalisation team, focusing on constructing a new enterprise data platform for a major Commodity Trading House. This role combines responsibilities of software engineering and platform engineering, where the engineer will contribute to building and scaling data tools using open-source technologies in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Build, develop, and support a major enterprise data platform from scratch.
- Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform across multiple regions.
- Create and maintain Helm charts for Kubernetes deployments.
- Utilize Kubernetes for application orchestration and management.
- Implement deployment strategies using ArgoCD and other technologies.
- Set up and deploy new open-source tools and technologies.
- Write production-quality software and APIs, particularly in the C#/.NET environment.
- Support backend services and APIs alongside data processing using Python.
Requirements
- Strong background in Software Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
- Comprehensive hands-on experience with Terraform.
- Proven expertise in Kubernetes management and operations.
- Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Experience in creating and maintaining Helm charts.
- Familiarity with ArgoCD for continuous delivery.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C#/.NET.
- Experience with on-premises infrastructure and greenfield projects.
