Overview
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer for a 12-month contract with an established technology team. In this hybrid role, you will work two days in the office and three days remotely, focusing on ensuring the quality of C#/.NET applications. This position involves close collaboration with software engineers and testing specialists to identify potential quality issues during the development lifecycle and to maintain high testing standards across multiple development teams.
Responsibilities
- Review C#/.NET applications and code for quality and testability.
- Collaborate directly with developers to identify and resolve potential quality issues early in the development process.
- Challenge technical decisions that negatively impact testability or maintainability.
- Ensure engineering teams adhere to established testing standards and practices.
- Conduct unit, component, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Identify gaps between the agreed testing approach and actual output.
- Support QA and engineering teams during high delivery activity periods.
- Work independently in a senior technical capacity to uphold quality standards.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET development.
- Background as a Software Engineer in Test (SDET) or in quality engineering.
- Ability to read, understand, and critique production C# code.
- Strong knowledge of automated testing and modern testing practices.
- Experience with unit, component, integration, and acceptance testing.
- Confidence in collaborating with experienced software engineers.
- Technical expertise in explaining quality and testability challenges.
- Familiarity with NUnit and SpecFlow is advantageous but broader C#/.NET testing experience is critical.
