Overview
The Field Engineer will provide professional field engineering services focusing on the delivery and assurance of Vodafone's strategic telecommunications network across Scotland. This contractor will work alongside project engineers to ensure project completion meets the agreed time, cost, quality, health, and safety parameters, while maintaining communication with all stakeholders and supporting 24/7 operational activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver field engineering services across Scottish Power’s telecommunications network.
- Ensure projects adhere to time, cost, quality, and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide timely communication and updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Complete project documentation as required by project engineers.
- Conduct 1st line assurance activities on a 24/7 basis.
- Identify and escalate issues and risks as they arise.
- Recommend improvements and cost reductions where feasible.
Requirements
- Proven experience in engineering installation and commissioning.
- Technical knowledge of networking principles with practical experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication tools such as Teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence is required.
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting networks and systems.
- Relevant technical qualifications, particularly in DC Charger, PDH, SDH, and microwave radio technologies.
