Overview
As a Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in modernizing and automating the Kubernetes infrastructure for a fintech company, enhancing its service offerings for asset managers, hedge funds, and investment banks. Collaborating with colleagues, you will focus on implementing Infrastructure as Code and improving platform security while upgrading the cluster networking, thereby driving a significant transformation in their engineering strategy.
Responsibilities
- Develop Terraform modules for Kubernetes clusters, DNS, and RBAC.
- Implement GitLab CI/CD automation for deployment processes.
- Contribute to the Gateway API implementation while planning for the retirement of NGINX.
- Enhance cluster observability and monitoring to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage Kubernetes networking, routing, and access control configurations.
- Maintain platform documentation and adhere to architecture standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and Terraform module development.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD principles and automation.
- Knowledge of Gateway API/Ingress configurations and management.
- Experience with cloud networking concepts including VPC, DNS, and subnets.
- Background in platform engineering within production environments.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
