Overview
We are seeking a Security Engineer (Contractor) to support our engineering team in delivering high-technology solutions. The contractor will collaborate closely with Technical Project Managers and the Solution Design Team to integrate security considerations into all project phases, ensuring compliance with security architectures and frameworks. The role is instrumental in developing security documentation, providing guidance on engineering decisions, and maintaining a secure operational environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Technical Project Managers and Solution Design Team to create security deliverables.
- Provide security guidance and ensure integration of security into engineering decisions.
- Generate and maintain project-level security documentation.
- Develop and support assurance of all project security outputs.
- Deliver a coherent and integrated security architecture.
- Identify risk mitigation strategies to align with accreditor risk appetite.
- Coordinate with customer security representatives and produce necessary artefacts.
- Assist in secure configuration and integration activities.
Requirements
- Experience in defence or a related field focused on security.
- Familiarity with Security Architectural Frameworks like Infosec Standard 1&2, ISO27001.
- Proven ability in large, complex systems and project lifecycle in a security context.
- Experience in producing security designs and navigating through accreditation processes.
- Knowledge of implementation and compliance with NIST SP 800-53, NATO standards, and others.
- Hands-on experience with Model Based System Engineering and open architectures.
- Ability to obtain the required level of UK Security clearance.
