Overview
We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Engineer for a 6-month contract focused on supporting a vital IT infrastructure estate. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical support across a range of systems, including Windows and VMware environments, while also working closely with networking technologies. This role involves both 2nd and 3rd line support and requires on-site presence in London 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support across IT infrastructure services.
- Manage and maintain Windows infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Support VMware vSphere/ESXi environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents and problems.
- Support infrastructure changes, maintenance activities, and upgrades.
- Assist with security remediation, vulnerability fixes, and patching activity.
- Work across networking technologies including switching, firewalls, and wireless environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, processes, and infrastructure standards.
Requirements
- Strong Windows infrastructure skills.
- Experience supporting VMware environments.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Experience working within enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable supporting BAU operations and maintenance activity.
- Desirable: Azure/hybrid cloud exposure.
- Desirable: Microsoft 365/Azure AD experience.
