Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer for a 6-month contract position focused on maintaining a critical infrastructure estate. The contractor will work collaboratively with a team to provide hands-on technical support across various environments, including Windows, VMware, and networking. This role involves both onsite presence in London for 2–3 days per week and offers opportunities to enhance infrastructure stability and security.
Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support across IT infrastructure services.
- Manage and maintain Windows infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Support VMware vSphere/ESXi environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents and problems.
- Assist with security remediation, vulnerability fixes, and patching activities.
- Work across networking technologies including switching, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, processes, and standards.
Requirements
- Strong Windows infrastructure skills.
- Experience supporting VMware environments.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Experience within enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with Azure or hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 or Azure AD preferred.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and security best practices is desirable.
