Overview
The Lead .NET Developer will join a dynamic energy trading business, playing a pivotal role in the design and scaling of their high-performance trading platform. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires close collaboration with multiple teams—including Traders and Analysts—focused on developing robust trading capabilities while ensuring best engineering practices are upheld. As part of this hybrid role, the developer will work two days a week in the office, contributing to the evolution of a cloud-native platform built on .NET and Azure.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of high-performance .NET services for an energy trading platform.
- Build and scale event-driven microservices running in Azure.
- Develop systems supporting trading, pricing, market data, positions, and risk workflows.
- Drive best practices in architecture, coding standards, observability, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with Traders, Risk, Data, and Product teams to translate trading requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and develop API-driven integrations with internal systems and external trading platforms.
- Mentor and support engineers while contributing hands-on to critical systems.
- Help evolve a scalable architecture capable of handling high-volume, time-sensitive workloads.
Requirements
- Strong experience building production systems with .NET / C#.
- Experience building cloud-native systems in Azure.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven architectures such as Kafka or Azure Service Bus.
- Experience with Azure Cosmos DB or distributed NoSQL technologies.
- Proven ability to build distributed systems and scalable APIs.
- Experience in energy trading or similarly high-performance trading environments.
- Understanding of market data, trading workflows, and risk systems.
- Ability to lead technical discussions while remaining hands-on in development.
