Overview
The Microsoft Dynamics Consultant will lead the development of D365 within a rapidly-expanding services group. This interim position will involve collaboration with the Group Finance Director and various finance and IT teams to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the finance function. The consultant will be responsible for optimizing D365 as the primary finance platform, ensuring it supports the company's growth effectively.
Responsibilities
- Own and optimize the D365 finance platform.
- Review and improve the finance configuration in D365, including key financial parameters.
- Act as the primary liaison between Finance and IT for support and issues.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between sub-ledgers and the General Ledger (GL).
- Map and streamline the month-end closing process to eliminate manual bottlenecks.
- Automate financial processes such as journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Design system-based financial controls and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Lead finance system projects, enhancement testing, and user training.
Requirements
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience configuring and supporting D365 Finance & Operations or similar ERP solutions.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering finance system development projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in reconciling sub-ledgers to the GL and resolving integration issues.
- Skilled in building reports using Power BI, Excel, and native D365 tools.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical staff.
