Overview
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead a critical network migration and refreshing project within our Broadcast division. This hands-on role requires a seasoned engineer with strong expertise in Cisco and Juniper networking to take ownership of key aspects of network design and migration planning, ensuring minimal disruption to existing broadcast services. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various teams throughout the migration lifecycle, contributing to the development of technical approaches, design documentation, and comprehensive test plans.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design and migration of the existing management network.
- Support the parallel refresh and modernisation of the network infrastructure.
- Design and configure BGP routing.
- Design and troubleshoot IPsec tunnels, GRE tunnels and VPN connectivity.
- Produce detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs), migration plans and implementation runbooks.
- Develop comprehensive network test plans and acceptance criteria.
- Perform pre- and post-migration testing and troubleshooting.
- Identify migration risks, dependencies and potential service impacts.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Cisco and Juniper networking.
- Strong knowledge of BGP, IPsec, GRE tunneling, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with QoS and Cisco IOS/IOS XR.
- Familiarity with network gateway/headend architecture.
- Skilled in network migrations and infrastructure refresh programmes.
- Experience in broadcast/media networks or large-scale service provider environments is beneficial.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of routing, tunneling, gateways, and network traffic flows.
- Ability to document technical designs and support implementation processes effectively.
