Planning Manager

Overview

As a Planning Manager for major water projects, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, integration, and monitoring of capital projects. Collaborating with various stakeholders across disciplines, you will ensure project schedules accurately reflect performance and support decision-making while aligning activities with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated programme schedules for complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Review and validate programme logic and sequencing to ensure schedule accuracy.
  • Identify and resolve scheduling issues through collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Produce programme reports and updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Monitor programme performance and escalate significant risks to relevant parties.
  • Support scenario planning, forecasting, and schedule risk assessments.
  • Engage in proactive stakeholder management and promote accountable planning practices.
  • Ensure adherence to governance standards and contribute to performance assurance activities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in programme integration within infrastructure or capital project environments.
  • Strong background in developing complex, integrated schedules.
  • Experience with contract-driven delivery methods, particularly NEC or FIDIC contracts.
  • Knowledge of schedule risk analysis and performance reporting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory processes and multi-disciplinary project management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on improving programme certainty and delivery predictability.
