Overview
This role is seeking a highly experienced Platform Architect, ideally at the Senior Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect level, to guide the architectural framework for a significant infrastructure capital programme. The contractor will primarily work remotely, engaging with senior stakeholders and diverse delivery partners to ensure successful integration and alignment of new platforms within a complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Define target platform architectures in alignment with enterprise standards and programme objectives.
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture from technology selection to detailed design.
- Establish integration, data, and security architecture patterns across platforms.
- Review and assure technical designs from both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Present architecture decisions, risks, and trade-offs to design authorities and governance forums.
- Plan for architectural transitions, migrations, and decommissioning activities.
- Collaborate with architecture and support teams to ensure operational sustainability of platforms.
- Lead knowledge transfer sessions to ensure internal teams can independently support platforms.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Senior Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Platform Architect on large, complex programmes.
- Strong expertise in Salesforce platform and integration architecture.
- Broad experience with SaaS solutions and cloud technologies, particularly Azure and AWS.
- Proven skills in solution architecture, integration design, and enterprise architecture alignment.
- Experience engaging with design authorities and technical governance forums.
- Ability to review and challenge designs from multiple suppliers and delivery teams.
- Experience in planning migrations and operational handovers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of elucidating complex technical decisions clearly.
