Overview
The Principal Structural Designer Contractor will play a critical role in delivering structural design solutions for new infrastructure and modifications in the energy sector. Working collaboratively with various stakeholders, the contractor will provide technical expertise, support project scopes, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role requires a nuanced understanding of structural design processes and the ability to engage in design reviews and technical oversight.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for structural design of new and modified infrastructure.
- Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
- Produce structural design drawings and 3D models.
- Participate in design and constructability reviews.
- Interface with other disciplines and clients on technical project issues.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality policies.
- Review and check deliverables including construction workpack input and rigging drawings.
- Support project planning and provide technical claims resolution as needed.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in structural design within the energy sector.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D and relevant discipline-specific software.
- Ability to investigate and interpret design data.
- Experience with Brownfield projects is desirable.
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Willingness to travel offshore for site surveys.
- Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry preferred, but not essential.
