Overview
We are seeking a skilled Product Designer on a contract basis for a global retail organisation, focusing on discovery and experimentation. In this role, the contractor will collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to address customer and business challenges, utilizing rapid prototyping and user research to develop innovative design solutions. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, driving design direction despite ambiguity and influencing product discovery processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery activities for new product opportunities and customer problems.
- Translate complex problems into clear design hypotheses.
- Explore multiple potential solutions through rapid prototyping.
- Plan and conduct evaluative user research to test concepts.
- Refine designs and recommend directions based on research findings.
- Produce high-quality UX and UI deliverables at pace.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Establish product and design direction in ambiguous areas.
Requirements
- Strong end-to-end Product Design experience in both UX and UI.
- Expertise in product discovery and experimentation.
- Proficiency in exploring and testing multiple solution hypotheses.
- Strong rapid-prototyping skills.
- Hands-on experience conducting evaluative user research.
- Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and provide strategic guidance.
- Experience designing customer-facing digital products for web and mobile.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders.
