Overview
The Product Owner will play a crucial role in managing a suite of digital products for a commodities trading firm specializing in Freight, LNG, and Logistics. This position involves working closely with internal traders and external partners to ensure the development and enhancement of products necessary for efficient trading operations. The contractor will oversee the product delivery roadmap, manage requirements, and facilitate communication between stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day product lifecycle of digital products used by the trading team and clients.
- Collaborate with internal traders and external providers to gather and shape product requirements.
- Own and maintain the delivery roadmap for product development.
- Write user stories and facilitate refinement sessions with the engineering team.
- Participate in prioritization discussions based on business and user needs.
- Monitor product performance, track metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Act as the main point of contact for traders and handle ad hoc client requests.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in a trading environment.
- Strong understanding of commodities trading, particularly in Freight, LNG, and Logistics.
- Familiarity with product management methodologies and tools.
- Ability to work closely with engineering teams and manage agile processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in writing user stories and participating in agile ceremonies.
- Ability to adapt to and prioritize changing business needs.
