Overview
The Programme Delivery Manager will oversee the launch of a complex healthcare software platform, working collaboratively with multiple teams, including engineering, QA, and third-party suppliers. This contract role focuses on driving successful delivery outcomes by managing dependencies and fostering effective cross-team communication. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the integrated delivery plan and ensure that critical path milestones are met as the program progresses toward launch.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the integrated delivery plan and critical path to launch.
- Facilitate daily cross-team stand-ups with client, engineering, QA, and suppliers.
- Identify, track, and resolve blockers and dependencies.
- Maintain RAID logs with ownership and deadlines for all risks, issues, and actions.
- Ensure backlog readiness and establish acceptance criteria with Product and Engineering.
- Provide concise updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and decisions.
- Drive outcomes through effective leadership rather than simply reporting on status.
Requirements
- Proven track record of managing at-risk programmes and bringing them under control.
- Experience as a Senior Delivery Manager or Programme Delivery Manager in a software and digital delivery environment.
- Strong background in managing delivery across multiple teams and suppliers.
- Expertise in dependency, RAID, and critical-path management.
- Ability to create structure in environments with immature ownership or governance.
- Demonstrated senior stakeholder management capability with the ability to challenge suppliers and engineers.
- Good understanding of the interactions between Product, Engineering, and QA teams.
- Technical literacy to engage meaningfully with engineering teams without making technical decisions.
