Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established engineering organization within the defence and protected mobility sector on a contract basis. This role is crucial in leading multiple engineering projects focused on delivering vehicle systems and services, ensuring operational capability. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, production, and external stakeholders, contributing to critical projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple engineering projects from initiation through to delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Monitor milestones, dependencies, risks, and critical paths.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards.
- Oversee technical direction and support resolution of engineering challenges.
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Support structured communication, reporting, and review meetings.
- Contribute to bids and proposals to support future project growth.
Requirements
- Degree-level education, ideally within an engineering or technical discipline.
- Proven experience delivering technical or engineering-led projects.
- Strong project planning capability, including use of MS Project and Microsoft Office.
- Experience managing budgets, risks, and structured governance processes.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
- Clear and confident communication skills across technical and leadership audiences.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
- Must hold active UK Security Clearance.
