Protection And Control Test Engineer

Overview

The Protection and Control Test Engineer will support a factory team on protection panel Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), secondary injection testing, and fault finding for high voltage transmission projects. This role requires a strong background in transmission-level protection testing and involves working independently with minimal supervision in a factory environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct protection panel Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Perform functional, scheme, and secondary injection testing.
  • Identify faults and manage snag clearance.
  • Configure and check relay settings.
  • Test transmission protection systems at voltages of 132kV to 400kV.
  • Utilize protection and control schematics for testing activities.
  • Support HMI / IEC 61850 testing as necessary.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout testing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Protection & Control / Protection Testing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with protection panel FAT.
  • Proficient in using Omicron for secondary injection testing.
  • Experience in transmission protection at 132kV, 275kV, or 400kV.
  • Familiarity with numerical relays such as Siemens SIPROTEC, GE Multilin, ABB/Hitachi, SEL, or Schneider MiCOM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work independently.
  • Health & Safety Passport or equivalent (CSCS, CCNSG) required.
