Overview
As a Senior Freelance Product Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing next-generation digital experiences for global sports audiences. Collaborating with lead designers, product managers, and engineering squads, you'll take full ownership of the UI and UX design for both web and mobile applications over a 9-month period. This position allows you to impact how millions engage with live sporting events and interactive media.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end UI and UX execution for major client initiatives across web and mobile platforms.
- Architect complex user journeys and facilitate design workshops for fan engagement features.
- Set and maintain component-driven design system standards in Figma.
- Present design rationales to client stakeholders and guide project teams.
- Mentor midweight designers, fostering skill development within the squad.
- Drive design quality and ensure technical feasibility for delivery teams.
- Manage deliverables and prioritize high-impact tasks within active sprints.
- Promote collaboration between design, product, engineering, and data teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial product design experience in agency or technology sectors.
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing complex product design and polished UI/UX across iOS, Android, and web.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, including prototyping and design system governance.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies and responsive design frameworks.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams for design handoff and implementation.
- Excellent project management and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to lead design initiatives and collaborate effectively in English-speaking settings.
- Familiarity with sports media or real-time data visualization is a plus.
