Overview
The Fire Risk Assessor will provide essential fire safety services to a diverse portfolio of Hospitality and Retail clients across the UK. Working on a contract basis, the successful consultant will deliver Fire Risk Assessments and offer technical fire safety advice, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and effective risk management. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who excels in managing their own workload and operates independently to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Fire Risk Assessments within an agreed geographical area according to the contracted scope of services.
- Plan, schedule, and manage the delivery of Fire Risk Assessments autonomously, ensuring contractual deliverables are met.
- Ensure Fire Risk Assessment reports are completed and submitted accurately in line with contractual requirements.
- Provide technical fire safety advice to clients and support stakeholders in delivering contracted services.
- Liaise with Service Coordinators to facilitate access and scheduling of Fire Risk Assessment services.
- Attend relevant meetings to discuss the delivery of contracted services as needed.
- Maintain professional competency and ongoing CPD to deliver contracted services effectively.
- Deliver additional fire safety services including training and technical advice if separately agreed.
Requirements
- Membership of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).
- Level 3 qualification in Fire Risk Assessment or Fire Safety Management.
- Minimum of 1 year working in a consultancy environment or 2 years within the Fire Service.
- Strong customer focus and commercial awareness.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
