Overview
We are seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join a progressive team dedicated to transforming the automotive sector. In this 6-month contract role, you will leverage your expertise in Ruby on Rails and AI technologies to architect and develop scalable web solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement modern engineering practices and drive innovative products that deliver significant commercial value.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end system architecture, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions are delivered efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Commercial teams to translate business objectives into technical plans.
- Drive engineering excellence through best practices, continuous improvement, and sustainable delivery methodologies.
- Lead the enhancement and evolution of high-traffic Ruby on Rails platforms that support substantial commercial throughput.
- Modernize legacy systems while maintaining seamless business operations.
- Work with stakeholders in pricing, quoting, and customer lifecycle domains to execute impactful product improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Strong background in AI and LLMs, including API integration and prompt engineering.
- Expertise in full-stack engineering, proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Hotwire, and Stimulus.
- Familiarity with Node.js and React is advantageous.
- Experience in API design, ideally with REST and GraphQL.
- Proficient in data stores such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of async processing tools like Sidekiq and Resque.
- Experience with AWS, Heroku, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
