Overview
We are seeking an SC Cleared Technical Architect to provide support in a complex MOD Defence R&D environment, focusing on secure capability development and digital transformation. This position places a strong emphasis on data platforms and security within hybrid and classified environments. The contractor will work closely with engineering teams to design and implement secure, resilient, and interoperable solutions while ensuring alignment with MOD standards.
Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain architecture artefacts, standards, and high-level and low-level designs.
- Design secure, resilient, and interoperable solutions across hybrid and private cloud environments.
- Implement data platforms, Data Fabric, and data integration solutions utilizing event-driven architectures.
- Ensure interoperability between legacy and modern technologies across MOD and allied systems.
- Provide technical assurance through design authorities and architecture review boards.
- Support cyber assurance activities aligned with MOD DefStan 05-138 and NCSC CAF standards.
Requirements
- Strong background in technical architecture within defence, government, or highly regulated environments.
- Experience delivering solutions in hybrid and classified settings.
- Proficient in VMware, Kubernetes, and containerisation/virtualisation technologies.
- Knowledge of secure network design, identity and access management, encryption, and network segmentation.
- Experience with API design, service-oriented architecture, and data integration.
- Familiarity with tools such as Sparx EA, Visio, Jira/Confluence, Git, and DevOps/IaC practices.
- SC clearance is mandatory; DV eligibility is desirable.
