Overview
We are looking for a Senior AWS Solutions Architect to provide architectural leadership for a strategic cloud-based occupancy data platform hosted within AWS. This role will involve collaborating with a consultancy and requires the candidate to provide innovative solutions that are scalable, secure, and resilient. The successful candidate will engage with stakeholders at all levels and guide multidisciplinary teams through the architecture process while ensuring alignment with best practices until the end of the contract in May 2027.
Responsibilities
- Define, maintain, and evolve the target architecture for the platform.
- Establish architecture principles, standards, and integration patterns.
- Lead technical design decisions across cloud, data, platform, and integration domains.
- Ensure solutions meet security, scalability, resilience, performance, and operational requirements.
- Design integration approaches for various data sources including WiFi and IoT.
- Review and assure engineering designs and implementation approaches.
- Provide architectural leadership across engineering and delivery teams.
- Support backlog refinement through assessment of technical feasibility and risks.
Requirements
- Active SC Clearance.
- Extensive experience designing large-scale AWS cloud architectures.
- Proven experience defining target architectures for cloud, integration, and data platforms.
- Experience leading architecture decisions within multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Strong track record of designing secure cloud solutions in regulated environments.
- Experience implementing event-driven, serverless, and API-led architectures.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage with senior leaders.
