Overview
The Senior Java Software Engineer will play a crucial role in developing a greenfield asset tokenisation platform for a prominent global financial institution. Working within a specialist consultancy, the contractor will tackle complex technical challenges and influence the direction of the platform from its inception. This hybrid role involves close collaboration with other engineers, focusing on hands-on development in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Build a greenfield asset tokenisation platform using Java.
- Develop new services and platform components in a Linux environment.
- Collaborate with other engineers to shape the design and direction of the platform.
- Solve complex engineering problems in a fast-moving environment.
- Utilize modern AI coding tools as part of the development process.
- Contribute to a high-visibility programme with the potential to scale significantly.
Requirements
- Strong commercial Java development experience.
- Good Linux knowledge.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building complex, production-grade systems.
- Ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and changing requirements.
- Experience with blockchain, crypto, digital assets, or tokenisation preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Windsurf, or Devin strongly preferred.
