Overview
We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join a major renewable energy and power transmission project team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing high-voltage transmission equipment work packages, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout all project phases. This position offers a dynamic work environment, including office-based tasks, site activities, and client visits, contributing to the effective integration of renewable energy into the grid.
Responsibilities
- Manage the successful delivery of transmission equipment project scope, ensuring compliance with budget and scheduling targets.
- Coordinate engineering, design, testing, manufacturing, and installation activities to ensure robust electrical solutions.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation while maintaining quality control and risk management.
- Lead and support technical discussions and reviews across various engineering and project management teams.
- Produce and distribute regular project reports to maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage subcontract packages, ensuring supplier performance and coordination.
- Facilitate commissioning and handover activities as necessary.
- Engage in site visits and client interactions to support project progress and build relationships.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in high-voltage transmission equipment management.
- Proven ability to deliver electrical transmission work packages across the project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of HV transmission equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Demonstrated experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent commercial awareness in managing budgets, schedules, and risks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as needed.
