Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage a significant High Voltage (HV) cabling replacement project connecting National Grid substations in North London. The successful contractor will initially support the project on a part-time basis before transitioning to a full-time role, collaborating closely with project delivery teams and stakeholders to ensure commercial objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Commercially manage a major HV cabling project for the National Grid.
- Administer and manage NEC contracts across the project lifecycle.
- Control costs, conduct forecasting, and prepare financial reports.
- Manage applications, valuations, variations, compensation events, and final accounts.
- Oversee subcontract procurement and ongoing commercial management.
- Support project delivery teams to meet commercial objectives.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive commercial records and audit trails throughout the programme.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major utility or HV infrastructure projects.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with NEC contracts.
- Previous involvement with National Grid projects is essential.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects from inception to final account.
- Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors delivering National Grid works.
- Strong commercial, contractual, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to work on-site as project demands increase.
