Overview
The Business Analyst - Finance role is focused on supporting a major technology transformation within the Finance and Billing functions. Working in a hybrid model, the contractor will collaborate with finance and business stakeholders to understand existing processes, define requirements, and work closely with engineering teams to implement solutions. The position offers a dynamic opportunity for a Business Analyst who thrives on engaging with software teams and taking ownership of project backlogs during an exciting period of change.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions and workshops with Finance, Credit Control, and business stakeholders.
- Understand existing processes and translate them into clear, structured requirements.
- Define how Finance & Billing processes should be integrated into a new platform.
- Work closely with an Engineering squad while maintaining hands-on ownership of the backlog.
- Analyse processes involving orders, billing, invoicing, disputes, and credit calculations.
- Identify gaps, dependencies, and risks to help prioritize developmental needs.
- Support requirements throughout the development and delivery phases, collaborating with technical teams.
- Engage effectively with senior stakeholders, providing necessary challenges as required.
Requirements
- Strong commercial Business Analysis experience within Finance Departments, Billing, or Finance transformation.
- Proven experience working closely with Software Engineers, Developers, or Product teams.
- Strong skills in requirements gathering and conducting discovery workshops.
- Experience managing or owning a product backlog in conjunction with an Engineering team.
- Ability to interpret ambiguity into clear, actionable requirements.
- Good understanding of the interrelationship between orders, billing, invoicing, and data.
- Comfortable working with Finance processes, numbers, and complex business rules.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior stakeholders, and a pragmatic approach to prioritization and delivery.
