Overview
We are looking for a qualified Site Engineer to join a significant heavy civils and infrastructure project focused on constructing a large underpass. The successful candidate will oversee daily site operations, ensuring the coordination of various civil engineering processes while prioritizing health and safety compliance. This role is critical for the timely and effective completion of the project, which includes complex tunnelling and underground structures.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operational delivery of the underpass construction project.
- Enforce health and safety protocols within underground working environments.
- Manage subcontractors and ensure daily output meets targets.
- Conduct quality assurance through Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
- Log daily site activities and track structural tolerances with the engineering team.
- Coordinate sprayed concrete lining (SCL) operations and waterproofing packages.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy civils or SCL tunnelling projects.
- Familiarity with shaft sinking, underpasses, or major underground structures.
- Current SSSTS (or SMSTS), CSCS Card, and First Aid at Work certifications.
- Valid Tunnelling Ticket or Confined Spaces qualification for medium/high risk.
- Ability to work standard site hours of 07:00 - 18:00.
