Overview
The CMM Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of composite and metallic components to ensure adherence to strict quality standards. The inspector will collaborate closely with production staff and engineering teams to promptly address any quality issues, while maintaining comprehensive documentation of inspections and tests. This role is designed for individuals with a solid background in quality control within manufacturing, particularly in aerospace or composites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections of composite and metallic components.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials and finished products.
- Create FAIR packs and other necessary documentation for customer parts.
- Support the MRB process and gauge R&R reporting.
- Provide feedback on regular or systemic failures to Operations and Engineering.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and quality assurance activities.
Requirements
- 2-3 years' experience in quality inspection within the manufacturing sector, with a focus on composites or aerospace.
- Proficient in CMM programming and operation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience using Offline PCDMIS programming.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
