Overview
We are seeking a skilled Applications Test Engineer for a hands-on contract role focused on testing Windows-based applications within complex networking environments. This position involves collaborating with a dedicated technical team to ensure the reliability and functionality of applications prior to release, emphasizing usability and integration with network-connected devices. The role requires onsite participation to meet the secure nature of the projects.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute test cases and test procedures.
- Conduct functional, regression, system, and integration testing.
- Test Windows/.NET desktop applications.
- Validate application workflows, usability, and UI functionality.
- Investigate, reproduce, and document software defects.
- Analyze network traffic using Wireshark or similar tools.
- Support requirements validation and traceability.
- Produce clear test documentation and reports.
Requirements
- Proven experience in testing Windows desktop applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft .NET-based applications.
- Knowledge of functional, system, regression, and integration testing.
- Experience in creating test cases and test procedures.
- Understanding of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, routing, and SNMP.
- Ability to document defects and produce technical reports.
- Familiarity with network analysis tools, preferably Wireshark.
