Software Compliance Analyst

Overview

The Software Compliance Analyst will oversee patching and compliance for nearly 2,000 machines within a prestigious arts institution for a six-month contract. This role requires close collaboration with the Information Security and Service Desk teams while ensuring the systems are compliant and audit-ready during a transition from MECM to Intune. The successful candidate will work independently from day one, taking full ownership of the patching and compliance function.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patching and compliance across 2,000 machines, ensuring everything is compliant and audit-ready.
  • Run both MECM and Intune systems in parallel during the migration.
  • Collaborate with Information Security and Service Desk teams.
  • Report to a monthly steering group on compliance and patching status.
  • Utilize PowerShell for remediation and patch scripting.
  • Implement Automatic Deployment Rules (ADRs) for efficient patch deployment.
  • Conduct CVE assessments and vulnerability remediation.
  • Document configuration and processes for Adaptiva OneSite Patch deployment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with SCCM/MECM, including server and workstation deployments.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune, particularly Update Rings and device compliance.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell for scripting and automation.
  • Experience with Patch Tuesday and out-of-band patch deployment.
  • Familiarity with compliance reporting at an organizational level.
  • Experience with a hybrid estate of Windows devices.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Essentials or NCSC CAF is a plus.
  • Prior involvement in MECM-to-Intune migration projects is preferred.
