Overview
We are seeking a Contract Software Engineer to join our rapidly scaling digital product and technology consultancy. In this role, you will engage directly with clients to design and build modern software products, develop architecture and technical strategy, and leverage AI technologies to drive value. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to address complex challenges and influence product direction.
Responsibilities
- Design and build modern digital products and platforms.
- Develop high-quality software using TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.
- Collaborate with product, design, and delivery teams.
- Engage directly with clients to understand challenges and define technical solutions.
- Influence technical direction, architectural decisions, and product roadmaps.
- Integrate AI-powered capabilities and emerging technologies as appropriate.
- Support cloud-based delivery environments across AWS and Azure.
- Promote engineering best practices, including testing, code quality, CI/CD, and security.
Requirements
- Significant commercial software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and/or Next.js.
- Experience delivering production-grade software solutions.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and client communication skills.
- Experience in consultancy, agency, or fast-paced engineering environments.
- Exposure to AI technologies, machine learning integrations, or AI-assisted development workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, especially Azure and AWS.
