Overview
We are seeking an experienced Staff Full Stack Engineer on a contract basis to support a globally distributed tech organization focused on platform evolution. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Rust and Java for backend development, while also utilizing React and Python for modern application building. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges and influencing architectural decisions within a product-driven team, all while working fully remotely.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build high-performance and reliable systems focusing on clean architecture.
- Develop and maintain customer-facing applications with React.
- Contribute to backend APIs and integrations utilizing Python.
- Take ownership of complex features from design to production.
- Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to deliver impactful features.
- Influence technical direction and engineering standards across the platform.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and debugging.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack / Backend Engineer.
- Strong backend development skills in Rust and/or Java.
- Commercial experience with frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on experience with Python for backend services and APIs.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and scalable architecture.
- Experience with production-grade systems and cloud-native development.
- Ability to onboard quickly and deliver value in a contractor capacity.
- Preferred background in making architectural decisions at a senior level.
