Overview
We are seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer (Contract) who will play a vital role in the evolution of a globally distributed tech company's platform. The engineer will work closely with product, design, and platform teams to create scalable backend systems and modern frontend applications. This fully remote position is ideal for someone with robust expertise in Rust and Java, coupled with hands-on experience in React and Python.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services using Rust and Java.
- Build high-performance, reliable systems focused on scalability and maintainability.
- Develop and maintain customer-facing applications using React.
- Contribute to backend services, APIs, and integrations using Python.
- Take ownership of complex features from design to production delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful functionality.
- Influence technical direction and engineering standards.
- Apply best practices around performance, reliability, and security.
Requirements
- Extensive experience as a Senior or Staff-level Full Stack / Backend Engineer.
- Strong backend engineering experience with Rust and Java.
- Commercial experience developing modern frontend applications using React.
- Hands-on experience with Python for backend services or APIs.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and scalable architecture.
- Experience designing and maintaining production-grade systems.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to onboard quickly and deliver value effectively.
