Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a prominent engineering consultancy on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This role will involve working on a diverse range of projects, including large-scale healthcare and commercial developments as well as smaller residential initiatives, allowing the successful candidate to leverage their skills in both steel and concrete frame structures. The position is primarily office-based but may accommodate part-time arrangements for exceptional candidates.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural components for various projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure integration of structural elements.
- Conduct site visits to assess ongoing construction work and compliance with designs.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for clients and stakeholders.
- Review and provide input on construction drawings and specifications.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and Structural Analysis tools.
- Experience with steel and concrete frame structures.
- Strong understanding of building codes and regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
