Overview
The Substations Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement strategy development for onshore and offshore substations associated with the Morven project. The role includes collaborating with various stakeholders and suppliers while overseeing the Request for Proposal (RFP) processes. This position requires a strong understanding of the offshore wind supply chain and the ability to manage high-criticality contracts and procurement strategies over a 12-month contract, with a flexible working arrangement of three days on-site and two days remote.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of procurement strategies for onshore and offshore substations.
- Manage the approval process for procurement strategies with stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation of commercial documentation for the substations package RFP.
- Collaborate with Engineering, HSSE, and Legal teams to ensure compliance with project schedules.
- Prepare necessary contracts and templates in coordination with Legal.
- Manage the RFP process and ensure compliance from bidders.
- Act as the communication interface between bidders and the project team.
Requirements
- Proven experience in preparing and managing complex RFPs from inception to award.
- Deep knowledge of offshore wind supply chain including HVDC OEMs and UK civils contractors.
- Experience negotiating and managing high-value contracts.
- Familiarity with the OFTO process and offshore wind project cost recovery.
- Ability to develop and implement procurement strategies effectively.
