Overview
This role is for a Tech Lead specializing in AWS and TypeScript, designed to guide engineering efforts on a high-traffic online marketplace undergoing a significant technological transformation. The position entails setting the technical direction as the platform transitions to a service-based architecture, while balancing hands-on development responsibilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborating closely with team members to drive progress on innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team on the online marketplace project.
- Define and communicate the technical direction for platform transformation.
- Oversee the shift from a monolithic to a service-based architecture.
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to incorporate AI workflows into the engineering process.
- Engage in hands-on development with TypeScript and oversee PHP (Laravel) components.
- Facilitate in-person meetings and workshops as necessary for team collaboration.
- Set and uphold engineering standards across projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience in principal-level engineering across cloud technologies and architecture.
- Extensive knowledge of building service-based platforms in AWS, including infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or CDK.
- Experience with decomposing monolithic applications into microservices using methods such as the strangler pattern.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, along with the ability to work with PHP (Laravel).
- Familiarity with integrating AI capabilities into software solutions.
- Strong leadership skills to guide a team through fast-paced and complex project environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Background in retail or e-commerce is preferred but not essential.
