Overview
We are looking for an experienced Veeam Professional Services Engineer to join as a contractor for an initial 30-day engagement. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Veeam technologies to design, implement, and deliver enterprise-level backup and data protection solutions while collaborating with technical stakeholders across various IT environments. The position focuses on deploying Veeam solutions in complex infrastructures, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards, and facilitating effective knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and configure enterprise Veeam Backup & Replication solutions.
- Deliver end-to-end professional services engagements, including technical scoping, architecture, deployment and handover.
- Assess existing backup and recovery infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
- Configure and optimise Veeam backup jobs, repositories, proxies, Scale-Out Backup Repositories (SOBR) and tape integration.
- Integrate Veeam solutions with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, physical servers, NAS, SAN and cloud platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, optimising backup performance and ensuring recovery objectives are achieved.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, runbooks, as-built documentation and handover materials.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, storage and security teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise architecture and security standards.
Requirements
- VMCE (Veeam Certified Engineer) certification is essential.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying and administering Veeam Backup & Replication in enterprise environments.
- Strong VMware vSphere expertise, including Veeam integration, backup proxies and transport modes.
- Practical experience with Scale-Out Backup Repositories (SOBR), Veeam ONE and Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.
- Experience working with enterprise storage technologies, including NAS, SAN and object storage.
- Knowledge of Veeam Cloud Connect and integration with public cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including backup job failures and performance optimisation.
- Excellent technical documentation skills.
