Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to join our client’s dynamic team on a fully remote basis within the UK. This role is ideal for an experienced full-stack developer with a strong emphasis on backend development in the WordPress ecosystem. The successful candidate will be pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance web applications and intranet pages, ensuring security and scalability. The initial contract will last six weeks with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes and plugins to meet client specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable web solutions.
- Optimize website performance, security, and user experience across platforms.
- Assist in the migration and deployment of web applications using Docker and Nginx.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members when necessary.
- Engage with clients or stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that align with their objectives.
- Ensure all development work adheres to project deadlines and quality standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in PHP development with strong knowledge of WordPress and related frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Laravel, CakePHP, and other PHP-based frameworks.
- Proficiency in JavaScript, JQuery, CSS (including SCSS), and front-end development best practices.
- Experience working with Docker, WSL/Ubuntu, Nginx, and MySQL for development and deployment.
- Familiarity with SharePoint or ShortPoint intranet pages is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a consultative approach to development.
- Previous experience working on remote projects within the UK is preferred.
