Overview
We are looking for an experienced Workday Functional Consultant to take on a leadership role as a Configuration Lead for an initial 3–6 month contract. The consultant will oversee a team of Workday configuration specialists, guiding them through the operational support and optimisation of Workday modules while transitioning into a business-as-usual (BAU) environment. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with HR and business stakeholders to ensure effective configuration and delivery of ongoing transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small team of Workday Configuration Specialists, managing priorities and delivery quality.
- Own the functional configuration and BAU support across Workday to maintain robust solutions.
- Deliver hands-on configuration across Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, and related modules.
- Configure Workday foundations, including organisational structures and business processes.
- Manage end-to-end configuration activities, including business process design and security configuration.
- Review and prioritise configuration requests from HR and business stakeholders, translating requirements into effective solutions.
- Oversee Workday release management activities, ensuring testing and deployment are coordinated effectively.
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation for configuration and operational procedures.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on Workday HCM configuration experience across multiple functional modules.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring Workday configuration teams.
- Strong configuration experience across Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, and related modules.
- Deep understanding of the Workday security framework, including role-based security.
- Experience managing Workday releases and change management processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a focus on HR and business collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive delivery approach.
- Desirable experience supporting global Workday deployments and Agile/hybrid environments.
