Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy construction projects, specifically focusing on Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role involves extensive collaboration with clients, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of project delivery from initial planning to final handover, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Take overall construction and project delivery responsibility for assigned Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
- Lead projects through mobilisation, construction, commissioning and handover.
- Manage and coordinate principal contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
- Develop and monitor construction programmes, milestones and key deliverables.
- Coordinate civil, mechanical and electrical construction activities.
- Monitor progress against programme, identifying delays, risks and recovery actions.
- Manage project budgets, costs, variations and commercial considerations.
- Provide regular project reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience within renewable energy construction/project delivery.
- Demonstrable experience delivering at least 3 Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
- Proven experience taking overall construction/project delivery responsibility.
- Strong understanding of utility-scale renewable energy construction.
- Experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Good understanding of quality, HSE and construction compliance requirements.
- Experience through to commissioning and project handover.
- Relevant construction/project management qualification is a plus.
