Overview
We are seeking experienced Sessional Form F Assessors to conduct fostering assessments for a children's service in Mid Wales. The role involves managing assessments from allocation to presentation at Fostering Panel, with a focus on producing thorough and analytical Form F reports. While the position is primarily remote, assessors will be required to perform local visits and assessments, ensuring flexibility in work hours.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive Form F Wales assessments of prospective foster carers.
- Conduct assessment visits with applicants and relevant individuals.
- Analyse information from interviews, references, and statutory checks.
- Maintain accurate and confidential assessment records.
- Provide regular progress updates and escalate concerns as needed.
- Attend supervision and formal midpoint reviews.
- Produce evidence-based reports with professional recommendations.
- Present completed assessments to Fostering Panel.
Requirements
- Hold a recognised Social Work qualification.
- Be registered with Social Care Wales.
- Have relevant experience in children's social care.
- Demonstrate experience in completing complex social care assessments.
- Exhibit excellent analytical and report-writing skills.
- Possess knowledge of fostering, safeguarding, and the needs of looked-after children.
- Be capable of working independently and meeting assessment timelines.
- Availability for supervision and Fostering Panel attendance is required.
