Construction Subcontract Manager

Overview

The Construction Subcontract Manager will oversee subcontract management on a major gas terminal development project, focusing specifically on Mechanical Work and Electrical & Instrumentation elements. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing subcontractor performance to ensure project deliverables are met effectively during the engineering and development phases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Subcontract Engineers/Administrators team.
  • Ensure the procedure of Subcontract Administration is implemented and followed by Subcontractors.
  • Initiate letters and notices to Subcontractors as needed.
  • Monitor Subcontractor’s performance and review payment submissions.
  • Support the project management team in identifying variations and claims impacting project timelines and costs.
  • Analyze Site Technical Queries and negotiate costs with Subcontractors.
  • Oversee processing of extra works, new unit prices, and claims in accordance with procedures.
  • Participate actively in change management and forecast analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in offshore facilities, industrial plants, or complex construction projects in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Previous experience with contract management activities preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management and subcontractor performance assessment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering teams and subcontractors.
