Overview
We are seeking experienced Content Designers to join a specialist technology consultancy focused on high-impact digital services in the public sector. In this contract role, you will work alongside cross-functional teams, including user researchers and interaction designers, to create clear, accessible content that enhances user experience. You will be involved in various stages of the delivery process, from discovery to live services, and will advocate for users while navigating institutional constraints.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with delivery teams to design and implement user-centered content for digital services.
- Translate complex policy and legal language into clear, accessible user-facing content.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and advocate for user needs.
- Navigate and adhere to style guides and accessibility standards while proposing improvements based on evidence.
- Utilize tools such as Figma, Google Docs, and content management systems to create and manage content.
- Incorporate AI tools into content design practices where applicable.
- Ensure timely delivery of quality content in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance is required.
- Experience working on real digital products and services.
- Familiarity with user-centered design practices and methodologies.
- Proven track record of collaboration with researchers, designers, and stakeholders.
- Competence in navigating brand and style guides, particularly in public sector contexts.
- Proficiency in tools like Figma, Google Docs, GitHub, and content management systems.
- Ability to travel to client sites in the North of England a few times a month as needed.
