Overview
We are seeking experienced Content Designers to join a specialist technology consultancy working on high-impact digital services within the public sector. You will collaborate with user researchers, interaction designers, and service designers to develop clear, accessible content that significantly impacts users. The role will involve both public sector projects and potential private sector work as your engagement evolves, with a need for occasional travel to client sites primarily in Manchester, Leeds, or the Midlands.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with delivery teams to design content for complex public sector digital services.
- Translate policy and legal language into accessible content for real users.
- Engage directly with stakeholders to advocate for user needs and navigate style guides.
- Make informed decisions about content placement and design, considering user-centered principles.
- Work alongside researchers and designers in a fast-paced environment to meet project deadlines.
- Use tools such as Figma, Google Docs, GitHub, and CMS for content development.
- Incorporate and reflect on the use of AI tools within your content design practices.
- Ensure all content adheres to accessibility standards and institutional guidelines.
Requirements
- Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance.
- Proven experience in content design for digital products and services.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design practices.
- Familiarity with brand and style guides, particularly GOV.UK or similar.
- Experience with collaborative work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in using design and content management tools like Figma and CMS.
- Ability to articulate design decisions and their impact on user experience.
- Willingness to travel to client sites a few times a month as necessary.
