Overview
We are seeking a senior Data Architect to support a strategic data and analytics roadmap for a sporting organization on a 3-month contract basis. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between business stakeholders and data/engineering teams, driving delivery and ensuring that initiatives provide measurable business value. The position requires strong leadership in engaging with senior stakeholders and managing complex data initiatives effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead stakeholder engagement to define and refine data requirements.
- Shape solutions by collaborating with technical teams and ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Manage priorities, dependencies, and backlogs to facilitate Agile delivery.
- Oversee distributed delivery teams and drive complex data initiatives from discovery to implementation.
- Facilitate workshops and communicate effectively with stakeholders to build strong relationships.
- Ensure adherence to data architecture, governance, and quality standards throughout projects.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, data engineering, or solution architecture.
- Proven leadership experience in managing complex enterprise data initiatives.
- Strong engagement and client-facing skills with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and workshop facilitation abilities.
- Deep understanding of modern data platforms including AWS, Azure, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Expertise in data architecture, governance, data quality, and lineage.
- Experience with Agile delivery and managing risks and dependencies.
