Overview
In this contract role, the Data Architect will provide architectural leadership for a Microsoft Fabric programme, focusing on assessing and enhancing current architecture to deliver a scalable and efficient data platform. The contractor will collaborate with technical teams and senior stakeholders to establish a strategic roadmap, ensuring effective data governance and integration. This position emphasizes both strategic oversight and hands-on involvement to drive successful programme delivery.
Responsibilities
- Review and provide assurance on the existing Microsoft Fabric architecture and programme delivery.
- Identify architectural gaps, risks, and areas for improvement.
- Define a clear architectural roadmap and recommend changes where necessary.
- Ensure adequate foundations are set for data modelling, integration, governance, and scalability.
- Guide delivery by working closely with technical teams and senior stakeholders.
- Assess current architecture and challenge existing approaches as needed.
Requirements
- Strong background in data architecture, with significant experience in Microsoft Fabric.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering enterprise data platforms.
- Ability to independently assess and challenge architectural decisions.
- Strong understanding of Azure data technologies and data modelling.
- Expertise in data governance and scalability.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and technical levels.
