Overview
The Data Transformation Architect / Engineer will play a critical role in a major data transformation program for a leading life and health reinsurance company. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing solutions to modernize legacy data platforms by automating data ingestion, mapping, and transformation processes using AWS technologies and AI/ML capabilities. The contractor will collaborate closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of scalable data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and delivery of data ingestion, mapping, and transformation solutions.
- Build and enhance ETL pipelines using AWS Glue and other AWS data services.
- Explore and implement AI/ML solutions to automate data mapping and reduce manual processes.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams to modernize legacy data platforms and improve data processing capabilities.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support the development of scalable, efficient, and maintainable data transformation processes.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Glue, ETL, data ingestion, and data transformation.
- Solid background in data engineering, including data mapping, integration, and pipeline development.
- Experience or exposure to AI/ML, particularly in automating data processing and transformation.
- Ability to combine technical architecture knowledge with hands-on engineering and delivery.
- Experience working on complex data modernization or transformation programs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitating technical workshops.
- Proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to take ownership of technical challenges.
- Previous experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry is advantageous, particularly with complex insurance data.
