Overview
The Database Developer will be engaged in a contract role focused on supporting data engineering and transformation efforts for a banking client. Collaborating with technical and security teams, the developer will design and implement robust ETL processes, ensuring data quality and governance across various platforms, while translating Python processing logic into scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop ETL processes to extract, transform, and integrate data from multiple sources.
- Work with relational databases including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and/or SQL Server.
- Develop data extraction, transformation, and integration solutions across databases and flat-file sources.
- Translate Python-based data processing and transformation logic into scalable ETL solutions.
- Implement data quality and governance checks across identity, privileged access, and platform account data.
- Support data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and reporting solutions.
- Investigate and resolve data quality discrepancies with stakeholders.
- Contribute to source control, release management, and deployment processes.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and/or SQL Server.
- Proven ability to design and develop ETL processes.
- Experience integrating data from multiple sources, including databases and flat files.
- Strong Python experience for data processing, transformation, and automation.
- Understanding of data quality, validation, reconciliation, and governance.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and reporting solutions.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau is desirable.
