Overview
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Lead to join our consultancy as a contractor, focused on leading a high-profile central government project. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex digital and data solutions while ensuring alignment with governmental standards and policies. You will be instrumental in fostering agile methodologies, mentoring team members, and providing strategic guidance to senior stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a high-profile central government project while ensuring alignment with user needs and business objectives.
- Manage and optimise a multidisciplinary team to foster collaboration and high performance.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies and ensure consistent application of Agile practices across the team.
- Remove blockers and manage impediments to maintain momentum and deliver value continuously.
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on project progress and strategic alignment.
- Provide clear, transparent reporting on delivery progress, risks, issues, and financials to both clients and internal leadership.
- Ensure compliance with government standards, including GDS service standards and governance requirements.
- Champion a user-centred design approach, ensuring solutions meet end-users' needs and accessibility standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading agile delivery on complex digital or data programmes, preferably within central government or the public sector.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience managing multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience with government governance and assurance processes, including familiarity with GDS service standards.
- Strong planning and delivery management capabilities, including risk and budget management across multiple workstreams.
- Data-driven mindset, using metrics to drive performance and continuous improvement.
- Experience with user-centred services and inclusive design principles.
