Overview
As an Embedded Software Contractor specializing in Linux, you will play a critical role in developing embedded Linux firmware for advanced hardware platforms. Collaborating with a dedicated team, you will work on device driver development, platform bring-up, and ensure the integration of firmware with existing software systems. Responsibilities
- Develop embedded Linux firmware for target hardware platforms including OMAP and iMX6.
- Implement software solutions to support platform bring-up and peripheral integration.
- Integrate firmware with the wider system, ensuring compatibility with existing components.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues related to firmware and hardware interactions.
- Produce supporting documentation, including design docs, test specifications, and release notes.
- Deliver embedded Linux firmware components such as kernels, BSP, and drivers.
- Report on testing and validation results, including unit and system-level tests.
- Provide issue investigation reports and document resolution outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in embedded Linux software development.
- Strong knowledge of kernel configuration, BSP updates, and device driver development.
- Experience with hardware communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, PCIe).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex firmware and hardware interaction issues.
- Familiarity with generating design documentation and test specifications.
- Eligibility for a BPSS check is required.
- Prior engagement in long-term contract work is preferred.
