Overview
The Head of Engineering will provide senior technical leadership and direction for a rapidly growing tech company focusing on transforming digital infrastructure through data and automation. Working in a hybrid arrangement, the contractor will engage with engineering teams and collaborate with executives to uphold engineering standards and drive impactful delivery during a critical phase of growth.
Responsibilities
- Shape technical strategy and architecture, focusing on AI and ML systems.
- Define and establish collaboration charters for engineering teams.
- Set and maintain high engineering standards across all delivery phases.
- Lead reliability initiatives including incident reviews and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product teams to refine and ensure technical feasibility of requirements.
- Mentor engineers and foster a culture of clarity and accountability.
- Collaborate with the executive team to align technical insight with company strategy.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams in product-driven environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of cloud and distributed systems, experience with JVM languages is beneficial.
- Proven ability to integrate AI/ML into live systems with measurable outcomes.
- Exceptional architectural judgement with a focus on scalability.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying technical trade-offs to diverse stakeholders.
- Immediate availability or able to start on short notice.
